Witley Court and Gardens and a stunning place to go if you’re choosing Days Out In Worcester UK, I’m always struck by just how beautiful it is, no matter how many times I’ve visited before! The vast, incredible remains of this magnificent 19th century mansion with huge stone fountains sitting in landscaped gardens take you to a bygone era and a different, almost impossible to imagine, way of life…….
The largest fountain, representing Perseus and Andromeda has been completely and perfectly restored to it’s former glory. William Andrews Nesfield created the South Parterre with its great fountain, with elegantly designed planting, clipped evergreens and many shrubs.

The disastrous fire that left the Witley Estate in it’s current ruin took place in 1937
The disastrous fire that left the Witley Estate in it’s current ruin took place in 1937 and little changed for many years until it was taken over by English Heritage who restored the south garden and Witley has benefitted from additional funding to assist with major restoration works in the East Parterre garden.
The more formal gardens based on the original Nesfield designs, is due to be the next area for renovation. The Woodland Walks in the North Park are home to many different species of tree and shrub from all over the world.
Witley operates under set hours, definitely check the next dates you can visit before travelling and absolutely make sure you see the stunning restored Perseus and Andromeda fountain, with its original high cascades in operation!
